Chris Duffy had three hits, scored three times and added two RBI, Jack Wilson had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run, Ronnie Paulino drove in two with two hits, and Ryan Doumit collected a pair of hits and drove in a run.

Ian Snell (3-2) yielded seven hits and two runs over seven innings, fanning seven and walking a pair.

Willie Harris had two hits including a double, and scored once for the Braves, whose five-game win streak came to an end. Kelly Johnson drove in the other run, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia singled and scored a run in defeat.

"It was disappointing," Johnson said. "At least, in my opinion, it's better to lose like that than to lose a close one in the end. We'll start a new winning streak tomorrow against someone in the division."

Anthony Lerew (0-1) gave up seven hits and five runs in 3 2/3 innings, walking three and striking out two.

Pittsburgh jumped on top in the first, when Duffy walked, stole second, and scored on Sanchez's one-out single.

In the third, Bay singled with two out and Doumit doubled him home for a 2-0 lead.

The Bucs got three more runs in the fourth. Paulino and Wilson began the inning with singles, then both runners scored thanks to Pete Orr's error on Snell's sacrifice bunt. Snell moved up to second on the play, then to third on Duffy's sac bunt. Sanchez drove in his second run of the game with a single for a 5-0 advantage.

Atlanta got two runs back in the fifth as Johnson lined a base hit up the middle to score Saltalamacchia. Harris dropped a double to short left and plated Matt Diaz.

Sanchez added another RBI hit in the sixth to make it 6-2, and Paulino's single to right scored two more.

It was 9-2 in the seventh as Wilson worked a leadoff walk and scored on Duffy's double off the wall in right. Jose Castillo and Duffy scored on Bay's two-out single for an 11-2 game.

Wilson's single to score Adam LaRoche and Duffy's base hit to score Paulino boosted the advantage to 13-2 in the eighth and capped the scoring.

The Pirates had their leadoff man reach base in all eight innings...Jose Bautista left the game in the bottom of the sixth after twisting his ankle when tagged out at home plate, an injury report is pending...Braves reliever Oscar Villareal gave up three runs on five hits in two innings, and Kevin Barry was torched for six hits and five runs in his two innings...Attendance was 19,484.
